| Examples of housing projects past and present are: Jubilee Gardens - Sarnia Our office was engaged to assist the City of Sarnia to provide an addition to an exiting multi-residential structure. Our firm was responsible to complete the design concept along with detailed drawings and specifications, including coordination of all related services such as electrical, mechanical, elevator, data-voice communications and other necessary requirements. The design encompassed all necessary aspects including site plan, parking requirements and landscaping. Memorial Baptist Church Housing Project—Stratford Our office is assisting this local parish in the expansion of their existing facility. It is their long range plan to provide low cost accessible housing in the City of Stratford as housing costs in our community have risen dramatically over the last few years. PAL (Performing Arts Lodge) - Stratford Currently our office is assisting this local non-profit organization in their search to provide affordable housing for those in our community retiring from the performing arts. Several options have been pursued. Stratford Place—Stratford Full architectural services for a 5-storey luxury condominium project in the City of Stratford. Project included 2 levels of underground parking as well as commercial space on the street level. Controlled access to parking, commercial space and condominiums featured. Optimism Place - Stratford Our firm provided full architectural services for Optimism Place, a new transition home for abused women and children. The shelter provided accommodation for six families as well as communal lounge, children’s indoor play area, dining, kitchen and laundry facilities. Office and consulting spaces were also provided for the staff. Security systems were designed to meet the needs of this special facility. Our office worked in conjunction with the Board of Directors and governing authorities to ensure the design not only met the functional needs but provided a comforting atmosphere for those who would be staying there. The site also provided sufficient parking and an enclosed outdoor play area for use by the residing families. This project was completed in conjunction with the Ministry of Community & Social Services Maitland Terrace—Listowel Full architectural services were provided for a life leasing housing project located on a property previously developed for high rise seniors apartments. This medium density housing project was developed to provide a wider range of accommodation on this property. As it was a new form of housing in this area, we worked closely with the Building Committee and their consultants to ensure their needs as well as the needs of the tenants/owners. |
